Corra Group Expands To Meet New Demands For DMV And CDL Background Checks

LOS ANGELES, CA (May 26, 2006) Corra has recently expanded its research and service departments to accommodate the new demand for Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV), Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and Commercial Driver's License (CDL) background checks. The California based company has devoted new resources to conducting these searches through various vendors via an automated system.

“We see more and more insurance companies refusing to supply their clients with any information concerning Department of Motor Vehicle records of any sort,” said Nick Gustavson, co-founder of Corra. “The insurance firms are citing FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act) compliance regulations and telling their clients they must retrieve this background screening information through their own sources.

“Every day we are getting more calls regarding DMV or MVR background checks as well as CDL background screening. We decided to meet this demand. We had to better allocate funding and upgrade our system.”

The new system will enable Corra clients to retrieve information from the DMV in every state. For most states, the driver’s background information can be retrieved in real time.

“This is but another step in assuring we can accommodate the changes in our industry as the Department of Transportation and other government agencies adjust to the new demands of home security," added Gustavson.
